Round Two

Blogging, day two. I am proud of my resolve to start blogging since my beautiful and talented friend SarahLynn created this page for me, but last night I got to thinking. Is it a good idea to publish the random thoughts and activities of my days on the world wide web that during my childhood would have gone in a locked and carefully hidden "My Little Pony" journal, and, let's be honest, who would really want to read them? Well, I guess you would since you are in the process right now. In that light, I am going to put a disclaimer to this blog sight: I write this for my own personal entertainment and to fulfill a goal, so read at your own risk. With that said, here it goes...

During the last three days, Kayla and Paul have been in Logan visiting us (let me clarify, they have been visiting Emma at Andrew and my house). They are in between semesters and decided to make the three hour road trip. Since they were my first overnight visitors in our Logan apartment, I got to air out my hostess skills. I am proud to say that I saw my mother coming out in me more than once during their visit ("Don't look at my messy house!" (that I spent all morning cleaning), "Are you guys sure you are going to be warm enough? Here are some more blankets just in case.", " How embarrassing that this is such a yellow meal!") Thanks Mom :)
The one place I really wanted to take the sibs was to the Willow Park Zoo. True, it is mostly birds, but hey, admission is a dollar and I think it is absolutely charming. It rained, hailed, and snowed on Monday and Tuesday, but Wednesday morning was beautiful. It was a lot of fun and we got some really entertaining pictures.

Emma was not all that interested in the animals, but she did love the chain link fences! She is really good at the dive-and-grab now, so she keeps us on our toes.

Emma loves being the only grandchild on her Judy side. She loves having an aunt or uncle always trying to entertain her (and her mother loves the joy they get out of carrying her heavy little 19 lbs body everywhere we go!)
Oh dear, the animals have escaped!
Emma is perfecting her sitting skills. If she focuses she can do really well, but if she gets distracted for a second, its all over. You can't see it but Andrew is on the right and Paul is on the left with hands outstretched, poised to dive in if she takes a tumble.
Emma riding the shoulders. She loves it!
All right, blogger fans, until next time!

  2. Nicole. I love the hair cut it is super cute. Also my love for the City of Logan revolves around childhood memories of camping at the Willow Park Fairgrounds (for my Shaffer family reunion) and visiting the Willow Park Zoo. I can't wait until this stupid knee heals all the way and I can come down to visit you kids and take Rhett to the Willow Park Zoo.

I can see Emma's sweet little spirit coming out in the pictures. What a cutie bug.
